Low Impact Big Difference: Sustainable Brands
We’re fortunate enough to live in a time when sustainability is a conversation that both fashion and beauty can no longer shy away from. These seven brands in particular are deeply committed to upholding planet-friendly standards throughout their production processes. From denim to bedding to beauty, here’s to feel-good style.
ELV Denim
Founded by stylist Anna Foster, this brand believes that water waste has no place in the creation of denim apparel. That’s why they source vintage denim to create piece after coveted piece right out of East London.
Brogger
Founding designer Julie Brøgger is a firm believer in buying less, but better. Her collection has perfected the soft/sharp aesthetic contrast, all the while remaining committed to sustainable practices – Brøgger’s goal is to be designing with 80% sustainable materials in no less than three years from now.
Coyuchi
Born over thirty years ago out of Northern California, this brand’s founder, Christine Nielson, was one of the first to bring organic sustainable textiles onto the bedding market. Cut to present day, and it’s now using original, natural, and organic fibers to create its pieces – yet again leading a movement.
Cocokind
This clean beauty brand is committed to creating through a process that’s as earth-friendly and waste-free as possible, from their packaging (did you know flint glass is one of the purest forms of glass?) to their formulas (hello, vegan sea grape caviar).
Jade Swim
Talk about a feel-good swim. This line of coveted swimwear uses 100% regenerated nylon (called ECONYL) – and that’s just one of many sustainable alternatives it leverages to keep its products as low-impact as possible.
Goodee
Enter: A bona fide marketplace of brands committed to making a positive social impact through their products. The founders – twin brothers Byron and Dexter Peart – use their platform for so much goodness, celebrating the amazing stories behind these brands that are getting it right.
Bybi
Great skincare doesn’t have to take a toll on the planet. This brand’s mission is to fight carbon emissions by doing all that it takes to be a net zero (or carbon neutral) brand, without compromising quality.
